Terms of service
Last updated October 19, 2026
These terms govern your use of Kiln (“Kiln”, “we”, “us”), the service at kilns.dev. By signing in or using Kiln you agree to them. If you don’t agree, don’t use Kiln.
1. The service
Kiln is a hub for ideas, notes, tasks and documents that you, the people you share workspaces with, and AI agents you connect can work on. Kiln is invite-only: access is at our discretion. Kiln is under active development, so features may change, be added or be removed.
2. Your account
- You sign in with a Google or GitHub account, or with your email address and a password, and must keep it secure.
- You’re responsible for everything done through your account, including by the agent tokens you create. Keep tokens secret and revoke any you no longer use.
- You must be at least 13 years old, and old enough to agree to these terms where you live.
3. Your content
You own the content you put in Kiln. You give us permission to store, process and display it only as needed to provide the service to you and, for content you put in a workspace, to the members of that workspace who can reach it. You’re responsible for your content and must have the right to store it.
4. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- use Kiln for anything unlawful, or to store or share content that infringes others’ rights;
- try to access other users’ data or accounts, or get around Kiln’s security or limits;
- upload or link malware, or use Kiln to harm others;
- overload or disrupt the service, including through automated access beyond the published rate limits;
- resell or provide Kiln to others without our permission.
5. AI agents
When you connect an AI agent with a token, it acts on your behalf, and you’re responsible for what it does in your hub. Agents and their providers are not part of Kiln; their own terms apply to them.
6. Availability and backups
We work to keep Kiln available and your data safe, but we don’t promise the service will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that data can never be lost. Keep your own copies of anything important.
7. Ending your use
You can stop using Kiln and delete your account at any time in Settings → Accounts. We may suspend or end your access if you break these terms, or to protect Kiln or its users, and we may discontinue the service, giving reasonable notice where we can.
8. Disclaimer
Kiln is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement, to the extent the law allows.
9. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, Kiln will not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability for any claim relating to Kiln is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim or US $50.
10. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Iowa, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Disputes will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Iowa.
11. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms. We’ll change the date above, and for significant changes tell you in the app or by email before they take effect. Continuing to use Kiln after that means you accept the new terms.
